Giving Back
At Wheelhouse Bay Sales and Marketing, we deeply feel it is imperative to give back to the community in which live and work. There are a vast number of non-profit organizations that operate exceptionally hard to fulfill the voids of need in our community so everyone can live quality, happy lives.
Wheelhouse Bay’s team is honored to be a strong contributor in the creation and development of the Shoot for the Stars Hockey Tournament. This adult non-contact hockey tournament operates in October each year at the Winsport Arenas at Canada Olympic Park. The purpose of this event is to host 12 teams who compete for magnificent championship cups and fundraising excellence awards, all supporting The Children’s Wish Foundation.
Since its inception in 2014, The Shoot for the Stars Hockey Tournament has raised over $120,000, granting over 12 heartfelt wishes to courageous Children. These Children, who are struggling with a life-threatening illness, experience renewed hope, willpower, fun, family unity, laughter, inspiration, and the ability to just be a kid again. It is evidenced that the experience of these wishes generates an encouraging physical boost in these Children and inspires them in their time of struggle.
As an organizer, nothing feels more uplifting than after a tedious hockey tournament, to get a bear hug from a wish child who says, “Thank you for making my dreams come true!”
